Further to our previous news dated 3 May 2012 announcing Port Klang Authority’s changes to its port limits, a further circular has been issued by Port Klang Authority detailing:

1. Declaration of new port limits, Port Klang;
2. Guidelines for ships anchoring at Pintu Gedong;
3. Procedures for crew change and bunkering activities;
4. Relocation of the pilot boarding ground and fairway buoy at Southern Channel Pintu Gedong.

Please click here to read the full circular.

With effect from 1st June 2012, Port Klang Authority has made changes to its port limits which particularly affects vessel idling outside the port. To see the new gazetted port limits click here. The main changes are as follows:

  1. All vessels calling the Outer anchorage are required to normal reporting and registered agents must carry out routine clearance inwards & outwards.
  2. Waiting time at the Outer anchorage is limited to 1 week but if require longer period of time must submit advance application and seek approval from Harbour Master.
  3. No lay-up is allowed.
  4. In due time, Port Authority will define anchorages for crew changes, for waiting, for bunkering, etc.
  5. Vessels are exempted from paying light dues and for now the port authority will also not collect port dues.
  6. No pilotage is required to proceed to Outer anchorage.
