Port Klang Authority has announced that a change in the port tariff (scales of rates, dues and charges) which is due to be effective from 1st July 2012 will be deferred until 30th September 2012. Click here to read the circular.

Port Klang Authority has announced a change in the port tariff (scales of rates, dues and charges) effective 1st July 2012. Click here to read the circular.

The main changes can be summarised as follows:

1) Port Dues – increase by 20%.

  • Vessels with GRT not exceeding 35,000 GRT – port dues to be increased from RM 5.00 to RM 6.00 per 100 GRT.
  • Vessels with GRT exceeding 35,000 GRT – port dues to be increased from RM 7.50 to RM 9.00 per 100 GRT.

2) Consolidated Marine Charges – increase by 20%.
This covers pilotage and tugs for berthing/unberthing. Given below rates for 4 categories of vessel’s LOA.

  • Vessels with LOA 100 m to 140 m – to be increased from RM 3500 to RM 4200.
  • Vessels with LOA 140 m to 200 m – to be increased from RM 7000 to RM 8400.
  • Vessels with LOA 200 m to 250 m – to be increased from RM 11000 to RM 13200.
  • Vessels with LOA 250 m to 300 m – to be increased from RM 12000 to RM 14400.

3) For container handling charges, NO change in rates except for a new rate for 45’ containers.

  • FCL and empty containers – RM 420.
  • DG Group I, II and III – RM 585, RM 510 and RM 440 respectively.
  • Transhipment (per move) – RM 240
  • DG Group I, II and III Transhipment (per move) – RM 380, RM 330 and RM 290 respectively.
  • Land and Reship – RM 375

4) Stevedorage – increase by 30%.

  • General cargo  –  to be increased from RM 5.60 to RM 7.30 per revenue ton (R/T).
  • Transhipment cargo –  to be increased from RM 5.00 to RM 6.50 per revenue ton (R/T).

    Stevedorage shifting of cargo onboard and landing of cargo & reshipping into same vessel:
    Onboard shifting – current rate RM 5.00 to RM 9.40 per R/T & new rate RM 8.50 per R/T
    Land and Reship – to be increased from RM 11.20 to RM 17.00 per R/T (increase by 52%)
                
Note:
1) Currently there are miscellaneous stevedore gang charges which will be included in above stevedorage from July.                
2) In addition there are charges for stevedore gang late application/alteration, cancellation and idling charges.
